Like the Christmas shrub???? It's a tradition. Jude loves it so much we had to put it behind the chair.
I realized that an update is in order! A medical mystery has occurred in our home. Maybe even a medical miracle. I don't know. But what I do know is that Sage had a really hard Monday of coughing and by that night she was about 80% better. She did not cough that night and we were AMAZED. Scratching our heads and confused too. We started a bit of our own hocus pocus with her.
- elderberry in everyone's breakfast juice
- probiotics
- Vitamin C
- zinc twice daily when her nose gets snotty
- Singulair and Nasonex daily
- Sinus rinse every night and twice daily when she has a cold
She is coughing here and there but nothing AT ALL compared to how she normally coughs. We are very, very thankful. Despite being under the weather on Monday, she could go to school on Tues. That is HUGE for both of us.
I took both Jude and Sage to the doctor today. Jude's ears are all better and Sage passed her hearing screening. Hooray again! And, Jude's weight is up! In just 2 weeks he has put on almost a pound. I have to say, we spend most of our day feeding Jude. But it's making a difference and we're thrilled.
A funny story about Ains. The sinus rinse that we use does the same thing as a netty pot. Squeeze the water up the nostril and it comes out the other nostril. Hard to get used to but very helpful. Sage dislikes it and I don't know that the water goes into her sinuses but we continue b/c it clears out her nose and even she likes being able to breathe easier afterwards. Ainsley ASKED to try the rinse. Okay?? Every night if she is snotty, "Mommy, will you rinse out my nose?" Okay! Last night she has a hard time w/ it. It IS tricky and requires lots of coordination. We kind of messed up the first time and i figured she'd be done with it all. Instead, my firstborn says, "okay, lets try that again". So we did! She's a rockstar with that thing and watching Ainsley encourages Sage to keep at it.
Have a great weekend!
