1 in the mouth, 1 in 1 hand, 2 in the other!
Jude is growing up! This week we abandoned the bottle. It was actually really easy and I would have done it sooner had I known just how easy it would be! He just takes warm milk from a sippy cup before nap and bed with no complaint. He drinks an entire sippy cup full to the brim.
Lance bought the kids yogurt cheerios. Not every cheerio is a yogurt cheerio and Jude was not to be fooled. He would sift through his cheerios on his tray and get SO excited when he found a yogurt cheerio. Usually he'd say, "oooo WOW!". Today he found 1 lonely yogurt cheerio in his carseat and he was tickled pink! He makes me laugh.
At nearly 14 months, Jude's language skills are coming along. It's fun to see these skills really picking up since he's mastered walking. He uses words, signs and gestures and a lot of yelling to get what he wants. The following list is mainly for his SLP mama :)
Signs Jude uses:
-more and open are the same sign (basically clapping)
-Music and movie are the same sign (smack his hands) simultaneously pointing to tv for a movie or music
-how big is Jude?-raises his arms up
-just starting to sign "milk" when we model it for him
-eat-points w/ index finger to mouth
Words he correctly & spontaneously uses:
uh oh
wa wa/water
o/hello when the phone rings
ba/ball
bye bye (1/13/10)
cu cu/cuddle with his arms raised up when he wants me to pick him up to cuddle. Jude is quite a cuddler!
boo/book
Animal sounds:
pig-his version of an oink
dog-panting
owl-whoo whoo
elephant-brr w/ arm raised
chicken- bak bak
frog-tongue in and out
goldfish-open and closes mouth
snake-ssss
monkey-ew ah
bunny-nose like a bunny (good for teaching him to blow his nose!)
Words he imitates:
bop
boom, boom, boom
ma ma and da da (rarely!)
Commands he follows:
Let's go upstairs to change your diaper...he walks right to the stairs.
